Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) regulations and BAT global standards.
- Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop, review, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) promoting safe work practices.
- Coordinate EHS training programs and evaluate organizational safety training needs.
- Collaborate with regulatory authorities, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Drive sustainability initiatives, certifications, and continuous improvement programs.
- Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across operational sites.
- Maintain EHS performance metrics, reports, and dashboards.
- Promote safety awareness through campaigns and internal engagement initiatives.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
- Mandatory certification in Environmental Health & Safety such as NEBOSH IGC, ISPON HSE, AOSH, or equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an Environmental Health & Safety role.
- Ability to engage effectively with regulatory bodies such as FMEnv, NISCN, and NISP.
- Understanding of environmental protection and workplace safety priorities.
- Basic financial and costing knowledge.
- Strong training and facilitation abilities.
- Good understanding of risk management principles.
- Proficiency in computer applications and workplace software tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
