Program Overview
Applications are now open for the 2026/2027 English Language Assistants Program organized by France Education International in partnership with the Embassy of France in Nigeria. This program offers Nigerian graduates a unique opportunity to gain seven months of international work experience while assisting in English language instruction within the French education system.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must be Nigerian citizens (permanent residents are not eligible)
- Applicants must be between 20 and 30 years old at the start of the mission
- Secondary education must have been completed in Nigeria
- Minimum of four (4) years of university studies completed at the time of application
- Native English speaker
- Minimum French proficiency of B1 level (DELF or DALF certificate required)
- Teaching or educational volunteering experience is an added advantage
- Applicants should preferably be single due to financial constraints of the allowance
- Ability to provide proof of sufficient funds for flight ticket and first month living expenses
- Applicants must select one Alliance Française or the Institut Français du Nigeria as their “Professeur Évaluateur”
Interview Locations
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews (physical or online) at the location closest to their residence. Interview centers include:
- Institut Français du Nigeria – Abuja
- Alliance Française centers in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Enugu, Kaduna, Owerri, Ilorin, Kano, Jos, and Maiduguri
