Role Purpose

The Channel Accounting Executive is a critical role focused on ensuring the financial integrity of Airtel’s retail shop operations. You will be responsible for meticulous shop accounting, daily reconciliations, and maintaining high standards of General Ledger (GL) hygiene in a fast-paced telecommunications environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monthly Financial Reporting: Execute error-free month-end journals and group closure reports in strict adherence to SLAs and group calendars.
  • Shop Reconciliations: Perform daily 3-way reconciliations for showrooms (Invoice vs. Receipt vs. Bank Value) and reconcile ERC pretups to the billing system (SnD).
  • Operational Control: Manage ERC purse clearances and reversals within tight 1-to-2-hour windows following Revenue Assurance approval.
  • GL Hygiene & Audit: Conduct bi-weekly reconciliations of SnD sales to the General Ledger and daily reconciliations of activations vs. sales.
  • Asset Management: Ensure all shop-deposited cheques are lodged correctly and manage the daily recycling of MDSA stock.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • First degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Certification: ICAN or equivalent professional qualification is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in the FMCG or Telecoms sector.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced MS Excel proficiency and strong financial reporting capabilities.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to translate data into business intelligence.
