Key Responsibilities (Job Role)
- Carry out regular inspections of workplaces and take prompt corrective actions to ensure full HSE compliance.
- Develop and implement relevant Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures across the organisation.
- Assist in drafting and rolling out the Employee Health and Safety Handbook, Risk Assessment templates, and other essential HSE guidelines and forms.
- Conduct HSE audits in line with the OSH Act, its amendments, and approved audit plans.
- Perform both scheduled and unscheduled Health & Safety Risk Assessments at assigned locations.
- Support the execution of industrial hygiene surveys as required.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop HSE gap analysis for Green Africa.
- Highlight safety non-compliances to the assigned Project Manager or Facility Manager, document discussions, and provide actionable recommendations with clear timelines.
- Produce monthly HSE status reports and follow up on recommended remedial actions to ensure timely compliance.
- Prepare and issue necessary HSE information and guidelines to the Head of Department when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in any relevant field.
- Solid understanding of HSE fundamentals and current health and safety best practices and standards.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proven experience in Health and Safety Management.
- Proficiency in computer-based applications for hazard reporting and risk assessment.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in Health and Safety Management Systems.
- Certification in Behavioural Safety Management will be an added advantage.
