The Role: Head of Investment

  • Location: Lagos, Nigeria

  • Sector: Pension Fund Administration (PFA)

Core Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the formulation and execution of the organization’s overall investment strategy. Key duties include:

  • Portfolio Management: Overseeing RSA and Approved Existing Scheme portfolios to deliver optimal risk-adjusted returns.
  • Strategic Allocation: Developing asset allocation frameworks across money markets, debt instruments, and alternative investments in line with PenCom regulations.
  • Market Intelligence: Conducting deep macroeconomic and competitor analysis to guide high-level investment decisions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring 100% adherence to PenCom guidelines and timely submission of all regulatory returns.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Maintaining robust relationships with regulators, fund managers, and the Board Investment Committee.
  • Risk Collaboration: Working with Risk Management to maintain liquidity and market risk frameworks.

Requirements & Professional Background

GTCO is looking for a leader with a proven track record in the financial markets:

  • Education: A First Degree plus a Post-Graduate Degree (MBA or Master’s in a related field).
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience, specifically managing large portfolios (N50 Billion – N100 Billion range).
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of asset allocation, portfolio construction, and local/international pension practices.
  • Certification: An ACI Dealing Certificate is considered a significant advantage.
