Job Purpose
The Facility Maintenance Associate will support third-party Facilities Management (FM) contractors in delivering maintenance services across APM Terminals Apapa. The role ensures maintenance activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with approved operational procedures and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support third-party facilities management contractors during maintenance operations.
- Participate in toolbox meetings and ensure strict adherence to HSE standards.
- Identify and report defects, unsafe conditions, and non-conformances.
- Serve as liaison between contractors and internal operational teams.
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with permits, safety rules, and approved scopes of work.
- Assist with execution and closure of maintenance work orders using CMMS.
- Maintain proper housekeeping before, during, and after maintenance tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
- ND or HND in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Technology, Facilities Management, or related discipline.
- Technical or vocational training in facilities maintenance is an added advantage.
Required / Preferred Certifications
- HSE Level 1–3 (minimum Level 1 required)
- Basic First Aid and Fire Fighting certification
- Permit-to-Work (PTW) or Contractor Safety Training (advantage)
- Facilities Management or Electrical Safety training (advantage)
Key Skills & Competencies
- Basic understanding of facilities maintenance and building services systems
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Basic computer literacy; CMMS knowledge is an advantage
- High safety awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate effectively with contractors and follow operational procedures
