Job Overview

The Procurement Officer will play an important role in managing supplier relationships, monitoring inventory requirements, and ensuring timely procurement of materials essential to business operations. The position requires analytical thinking, negotiation expertise, and strong coordination with internal departments and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and research potential suppliers to support procurement activities.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations and compare offers to achieve best value.
  • Negotiate pricing structures and contractual agreements with vendors.
  • Procure operational materials and services required for daily activities.
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate purchase orders when necessary.
  • Work closely with warehouse teams to ensure proper storage and handling.
  • Attend trade fairs and industry exhibitions to stay informed on market trends.
  • Track orders and ensure prompt delivery timelines are met.
  • Inspect purchased goods to confirm compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records including invoices and delivery details.
  • Input supplier and order information into internal procurement systems.
  • Prepare purchasing reports and cost analysis documentation.
  • Participate in departmental performance reviews and organizational training programs.
  • Carry out additional duties assigned by the section head when required.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience in procurement or purchasing roles.
  • Experience working in structured procurement environments is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies

  • Understanding of cement manufacturing industry trends and regulations.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with system-based inventory and procurement platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and enterprise tools such as SAP.
  • Knowledge of supplier sourcing and evaluation processes.
  • Ability to prepare financial and cost analysis reports.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
