Job Summary
The Inventory Officer will be responsible for managing stock levels, monitoring material usage, and ensuring efficient inventory control across both production and retail operations. The role requires strong organizational ability, attention to detail, and the capacity to maintain accurate records in a fast-paced fashion production environment.
The successful candidate will help ensure uninterrupted production processes by maintaining proper stock availability while enforcing inventory control procedures and reporting systems.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Receive, inspect, and accurately document incoming inventory including fabrics, trims, accessories, and finished products.
- Monitor stock levels and initiate replenishment requests to prevent shortages or production delays.
- Issue materials to production teams based on approved requisitions and schedules.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using management systems and manual documentation where required.
Compliance & Store-Keeping
- Ensure storage areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with company standards.
- Enforce established inventory control policies and procedures.
- Support internal audits and inventory inspections.
Stock Control & Reconciliation
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and reconciliations.
- Investigate discrepancies such as shortages, damages, or losses and report findings promptly.
- Ensure proper labeling, categorization, and storage of all inventory items.
- Implement and maintain FIFO (First-In-First-Out) inventory practices.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare periodic inventory reports including daily, weekly, and monthly summaries.
- Maintain documentation for stock movement, transfers, returns, and write-offs.
- Provide inventory data to management to support production planning and budgeting decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems.
- 1–3 years experience in inventory or store management roles.
- Fashion industry experience will be considered an added advantage.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
