The organization is currently seeking a qualified and experienced professional to join its operations team as a Facility Management Supervisor in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

  • Supervises: Facilities Officers, Technicians, and Administrative Support Staff

Role Overview

The Facility Management Supervisor will coordinate and oversee daily facilities operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant workplace environments. The role focuses on maintenance planning, vendor supervision, asset management, and operational continuity while supporting cost efficiency and regulatory compliance across assigned facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities Operations & Maintenance

  • Supervise routine inspections, maintenance schedules, and operational activities.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Monitor vendor service delivery against Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and asset documentation.
  • Support emergency response and incident recovery activities.

Space & Asset Management

  • Support workspace planning, seating allocation, and facility utilization.
  • Maintain updated inventories of assets, furniture, and equipment.
  • Coordinate asset movement, installations, and disposals.
  • Assist in renovation, relocation, or expansion projects.

Vendor & Contract Administration

  • Supervise third-party vendors through inspections and performance reviews.
  • Track contract milestones, renewals, and obligations.
  • Validate vendor invoices against completed services.
  • Provide technical support during procurement and vendor selection.
  • Escalate performance issues and implement corrective actions.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Support statutory inspections and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Promote workplace safety awareness among staff and vendors.
  • Investigate incidents and implement preventive controls.

Financial Monitoring & Cost Control

  • Monitor facilities budgets and operational expenses.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through operational improvements.
  • Track utilities consumption and spending trends.
  • Support financial reporting and annual budget planning.

Team Supervision & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Assign tasks, coach staff, and provide performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address service needs.
  • Facilitate vendor and team performance meetings.
  • Provide operational reports and improvement recommendations to management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Mandatory Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years facilities or building management experience.
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience in facilities maintenance coordination, vendor management, compliance monitoring, and cost control.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

  • Facilities Management certification (IFMA, BIFM, or equivalent).
  • Experience managing multi-site facility operations.
