Job Objective

The Learning & Development Specialist will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and administering training and development initiatives that enhance employee skills, support professional growth, and improve overall organizational productivity.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify training and development needs through appraisals, training plans, and consultations with managers and HR
  • Design, develop, and manage training programs aligned with organizational and individual needs
  • Monitor trainee progress using appraisals, questionnaires, and feedback sessions with line managers
  • Conduct post-training evaluations to assess effectiveness and measure outcomes
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure training programs deliver measurable results
  • Organize training materials and coordinate internal and external training sessions
  • Ensure all training activities remain within approved budgets
  • Track trainee progress and prepare reports for senior management
  • Stay updated on learning and development trends, tools, and best practices
  • Promote and exemplify a strong learning culture within the organization
  • Plan and manage logistics for employee development and training events
  • Work closely with other members of the Human Resources team
  • Develop and maintain internal communication on training opportunities and learning resources

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • HR or other relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Human Resources, Learning & Development, or a similar role
