Role Overview

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide IT strategies that support MTN Nigeria’s digital transformation objectives. The role involves integrating emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, automation, and data analytics to enhance operational efficiency, improve service delivery, and drive sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement enterprise IT strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee IT architecture and infrastructure to ensure flexibility and innovation.
  • Establish effective data governance frameworks to support decision-making.
  • Monitor IT operations and projects to ensure optimal resource utilization.
  • Manage service level agreements with technology partners.
  • Implement IT quality assurance and asset management processes.
  • Support adoption of cloud-based and microservices architectures.
  • Develop cybersecurity and IT risk management frameworks.
  • Oversee disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Implement automation and digital platforms to improve productivity.
  • Lead digital innovation initiatives across cross-functional teams.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to support business growth.
  • Monitor IT performance metrics and key performance indicators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or a related discipline.
  • Professional IT accreditation from a recognized body.
  • MBA or Master’s Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience in a structured business environment.
  • At least five (5) years of strategic leadership experience within a Telco or Digital Business.
  • Experience working in multinational or global organizations.
  • Demonstrated involvement in business improvement or transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working across diverse teams and markets.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
