United Nigeria Airlines is currently recruiting qualified candidates to fill the position of Baggage Handler within its Ground Operations team.

Location: Kaduna / Jos (Plateau State)
Department: Ground Operations
Reports To: Station Manager

Job Summary

The Baggage Handler is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely loading, unloading, and transportation of passengers’ luggage at the airport, ensuring smooth flight operations and adherence to safety standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, and verify luggage against flight manifests.
• Transfer baggage from check-in counters to departure areas.
• Transport luggage to aircraft using baggage trucks while protecting items from adverse weather.
• Unload baggage promptly upon aircraft arrival.
• Load and secure baggage correctly in aircraft holds.
• Monitor and report suspicious or unattended baggage to security authorities.
• Record and manage damaged, missing, or incorrectly received baggage.
• Operate baggage handling equipment including conveyors and lifting systems.
• Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to relevant personnel.
• Move cargo and goods to and from aircraft and warehouse storage areas.
• Ensure baggage is routed to the correct reclaim conveyors.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Experience & Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience.

• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure.

Physical Requirements

• Good physical fitness and strength.
• Ability to lift heavy items when required.
• Willingness to work late or shift hours.
