Role Overview

The Digital Communications Officer will play a central role in managing the alliance’s digital presence and strengthening its public engagement strategy. This position requires a creative and strategic communicator who can effectively tell the organization’s story while amplifying its advocacy campaigns.

The role integrates digital communication strategy, social media management, media engagement, and print content development. The successful candidate will help position NTCA as a credible and influential voice in tobacco control advocacy across Nigeria.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement NTCA’s communication and digital engagement strategy.
  • Manage and grow the organization’s online presence across social media platforms and website channels.
  • Maintain a structured archive of communication assets including photos, videos, publications, and reports.
  • Identify and deploy innovative communication tools and digital platforms to expand audience reach.
  • Collaborate with program and leadership teams to support advocacy campaigns and organizational events.
  • Create and manage high-quality digital and print content including graphics, videos, newsletters, and reports.
  • Coordinate social media planning, content scheduling, publishing, and performance monitoring.
  • Develop compelling storytelling content highlighting NTCA’s achievements and impact.
  • Support media engagement through press releases, articles, and press event coordination.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Media Studies, Marketing, Journalism, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Proven experience in communications, digital media, or content strategy.
  • Strong skills in social media management and digital content creation.
  • Experience producing both digital and print communication materials.
  • Ability to think strategically and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong competence in digital analytics and content performance tracking.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools, video editing software, or content management systems is an added advantage.
